Orpheus in the Underworld at the London Coliseum - in pictures. Best known for its central role at the Proms, the Royal Albert Hall is one of the most coveted stages in the world for musicians across many disciplines — not least because it can seat over 5, eager listeners.
As well as hosting internationally famous performers on a regular basis, the Hall is also home to a Films in Concert series showing movies to a soundtrack played by a full orchestra and child-friendly shows including My Great Orchestral Adventure. The principal venue of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra may not have the staggering capacity of some of its more famed associates, but is among the best loved. This Marylebone concert hall has managed something pretty special.
Wigmore Hall became world-renowned shortly after opening as the Bechstein Hall in for having near-perfect acoustics. As a result, it has become a specialist venue for voice performances, particularly chamber music, supporting music with roots way back in the sixteenth century. If summer is here, then the time is right to take your classical al fresco. One of the more unlikely spots in the capital to be doing this is Canary Wharf, where Canada Square just at the bottom of the famed pyramided centre-piece of the wharf plays host to multiple classical music events that are frequently free to attend.
Jazz lovers should head to the neighbouring Queen Elizabeth Hall, while the most intimate experience at the centre can be found in the seat Purcell Room. This very modern concert venue has all sorts happening under its roof.

As much as Kings Place is a venue, it is also an education and working space for musicians both budding and established. The concert hall hosts classical music primarily, but also folk, contemporary and world musicians. MaraEmerald Hobbyist Traditional Artist.
